E-Signatures

Any generated document can be sent for electronic signature — remotely, to people who don't have a Konduit account, at no cost to them. Signatures are built into Konduit, not an integration: the document fills itself from your data, goes out under your name, and fires your automations when it's signed. There's no separate signature subscription to buy.

Recipients always sign free, on every plan. What's metered is requesting signatures — see plan limits below.

Request signatures

Open a generated document and click Request signature. Assign each signature line to a signer's email (or list signers in signing order), set an optional link expiry, and send. Konduit handles the routing:

1. Signer 1 gets an email invitation with their personal signing link the moment you send. Each following signer is invited automatically when the person before them finishes — you never chase the routing yourself.
2. Each signer opens their link, sees the document, and agrees to sign electronically.
3. They verify with a 6-digit code emailed only to their own address — a forwarded link can view the document, but can never sign.
4. They tap the signature line and draw or type their signature. If it isn't their turn yet, the page says who they're waiting on.

A signer can decline to sign (with an optional reason) — you're notified immediately, and signing pauses until you revoke and re-send. While signatures are outstanding you'll see status chips for every signer, can hit remind to re-send an invitation (once per hour per signer), and can revoke the whole share at any time.

Sent by you, not by a robot

Signature invitations arrive as "Your Name via Konduit" — the name your client actually recognizes — with your initials up top and replies routed to you. (If your workspace has configured email branding, its public sender name is used instead.) Signing pages carry a small Konduit mark on every plan.

When everyone has signed

When the last signature lands, the document locks — it can't be edited, re-shared, or signed again — and:

• Every signer receives the executed document automatically, with their own permanent link.
• You (whoever sent it) get an email and an in-app notification. Only the sender is notified — not the whole workspace.

Send for signature automatically

Two automation hooks make signatures part of your workflow instead of a chore:

• Generate → send in one rule. The generate document automation action can mint the document from the record that triggered it and email it for signature — the signer's address interpolated straight from the record (for example, the customer email column). "Proposal moves to Sent → the quote emails itself for signature."
• Document signed / declined triggers. Documents fire their own automation triggers, scoped to the template. Typical rules: quote signed → move the job to Approved and create an invoice task; someone declines → notify the account owner.

The signing record

Every signed document carries a tamper-evident signing record: who viewed it and when, the consent, the code verification, and the signature itself — each with a timestamp and the signer's verified email. Konduit also fingerprints the document's exact content at signing, so it can be shown the document wasn't altered afterwards. Open Signing record on any shared document to see (and print) the full trail.

Konduit is not a law firm, and some document types can't be signed electronically (wills, certain notices). You're responsible for deciding whether e-signature suits your documents — see our Terms for details.

Signing in person

Prefer to capture a signature on the spot? Open the document on your phone or tablet and use Hand to customer — the screen locks into a signing view, the customer signs on the device, and you take it back. No email or code needed when they're standing next to you.

Plan limits

A signature request is one signing round — sending a document out for signature counts once no matter how many signers it routes through. Copying a view link, and signing a document someone sent you, are free on every plan. The daily email ceiling exists to keep the sending domain trustworthy for everyone; a legitimate business won't meet it — if yours genuinely needs more, contact support and we'll raise it.
